Attention Sports Enthusiaists

sportsenthWe are currently seeking a Flag Football and kickball coach to get the season underway. We ask that teams hold practice once a week, after school, and all games are played on Wednesdays for kickball and Thursdays for flag football.  If you are interested in coaching our Camarena Co-ed Flag Football or kickball team, please email Mr. Morales at

PTA News

PTANext PTA Meeting is Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Refreshments will be provided by one of our sponsors: Vitality Bowls of Chula Vista!

We will be joined by Principal Hanks and Vice Principal Dugan who will share the school’s and district’s CASSP results and answer questions about the test and what it means for our children.

Our PTA agenda, in addition to regular PTA functions will discuss our upcoming Red Ribbon week. We have this scheduled for October 24th through 28th. If you would like to get involved, please join us for the meeting or contact us at This year during red ribbon week, specific date TBD, we will be joined not only by Ms. Mika Camarena, but also by  the Honorable Enrique S. Camarena Jr.

Week of August 15-August 19

We are in full-swing of learning as we enter our 5th week of school.  This week our 3rd grade students who are are able to speak another language other than English, will be taking the CELDT test.  This test is only given to those students who speak another language and measures their progress on the English language. Our 2nd and 4th-6th grade students will test next week.

As a heads up, our safety patrol will be out offering their services soon. They will be going through the training process this week and then begin patrolling the crosswalks in the front and back of the school after their training is complete.

Adolescent Growth Education (A.G.E.)

If your child is in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade this year, your child will be receiving the Adolescent Growth Education.  The Chula Vista Elementary School District is offering an opportunity for parents to preview the content of the instructional materials before-hand. The preview dates are Tuesday, August 16, 2016 and January 24, 2017 at 6:00 the room C at the district office. The letter below provide a more in depth explanation of the process and the topics.
