Yes indeed. Tentative plans are to have tours around July 8. Stay tuned for more updates.

Great to see the chalk lines for crosswalks around the school.

I am curious as to what is being worked on between the South school building and the baseball field, looks like a new foundation has just been laid, is this for another building? Also, what is the grassy area to the South of the Southern building, beside Windingwalk Street, going to be used for?

This foundation is for four classrooms, bringing our total number of classrooms to 36. There’s a good chance they will be full on Day One. The grassy area is undefined space at this point. We will have a garden on a portion of that land and the rest will be determined by the needs of our school community.

Knowing that I am not placing this question in the appropriate location…. I am wondering as they are busy painting new double yellow lines in the street and ready to paint the lines for crosswalks, will there be ANY kind of crossing guard for the kids (in particular at the intersection of Windingwalk Street and Exploration Falls). Cars actually stopping for a stop sign there seem to think it is merely a suggestion, not actually a law. Considering my children will be walking to/from school most likely using a route that involves crossing that intersection, I am concerned for their safety and the safety of all the kids in the area. I already see how cars blatantly ignore the mandatory stop when the bus comes every day. Is there going to be something in place? I know I can’t be out there every day yelling at cars and shaking my fist in the air making large gestures to make sure people see the kids.

At my current school we have made significant progress through the help of an army of parent volunteers. When we stand together as a community we will see a safe and orderly entrance and exit for our kids. Of course we will also have a full compliment of Safety Patrol students supporting our efforts as well.
