While I know there are growing pains as teachers, students, and parents are becoming familiar with new and unfamiliar math strategies, I see evidence every day that our students are gaining confidence and skill in creating clear math models and their mathematical thinking is growing exponentially.  After all, we may be solving math problems using this in the future:

We aim to create a family atmosphere at Camarena and Cross Grade Level Buddies are always a good way to build those relationships. Here, Mr. Garcia’s 6th graders are supporting our TK friends with their spider project.

Please follow all the action this week on #camlearns as we will be sharing student work and activities through all the Red Ribbon celebrations and classroom activities.

Congratulations to all the candidates who ran for office.  Whether selected or not, you have demonstrated leadership, and courage, and our school is better because of your presence.

I also got to observe Ms. Marcial’s students working on rounding and using Total Physical Response to keep those ideas front and center in their brains.
